Customizable Spring and Fall Farm Shares

River Queen Greens offers customizable farm shares during our prime growing season, September through June, delivered to several convenient locations in New Orleans. We're excited to use a farm share management platform called Harvie, which allows us to offer you choice-based shares and has many other user-friendly features..

Farm Shares typically have a robust selection of greens, including a variety of salad, cooking, and microgreens, as well as root veggies, fresh herbs, and other seasonal favorites. Most of the veggies are grown by us at our two New Orleans sites, with supplemental produce and add-on farm products (like eggs and mushrooms) from a few of other local, sustainable farms.

Farm Share members can choose to receive weekly or every other week shares. Another option is to sign up to receive notications for our Farm Stand, which allows you to purchase one-time shares whenever we have extra produce available, which we typically do. We're also offering a limited amount of subsidized Community Shares. Please fill out the linked form to request a Community Share.

Participating in a farm share like ours is a great way to support local agriculture and local food. We also believe that it should be a great service to you and your family and friends. By signing up for our farm share, you'll be able to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of customization and delivery to your neighborhood, and you'll be eating some of the freshest, most nutrient-dense produce available in New Orleans every week.

Buy Shares with SNAP

We are now able to accept SNAP EBT card payments on site. In addition, we'll be partnering with Market Umbrella to use Market Match - a program that matches SNAP dollars 1 for 1, which means that all SNAP users can pay half price for their farm shares! If you are interested in using an EBT card to purchase a farm share, or know someone who might be, please contact us at farmers@riverqueengreens.com to learn more about how this works. (Please note, you cannot use your EBT card to pay through Harvie, so you must contact us to arrange this payment option.)
Contactless, COVID-Friendly Transactions
Safety for our customers and staff is a top priority, especially during this time of Covid. Farm Share pick-ups are outdoors, contactless, and sanitary. We pack shares into bins that we sanitize between each delivery. When you come to pick up your share, a masked staff member will retrieve and open your bin for you. All you have to do is unload the contents into your own bags.
Customization and Flexibility
Harvie is a tool that we've opted to use to help us deliver the most convenient and flexible farm share for our members. We're excited about its streamlined system to help us manage shares and the flexibility it offers customers. Members will need to sign-up at the Harvie.farm website, which is independent from River Queen Greens. Read more about Harvie.

Once you sign up for a share, you’ll be able to rate all the produce we grow on an incremental scale of “not for me” to “I love it.” Your share will be built based on those preferences and what we have available at the time. If you don’t like beets, you can rate them a “not for me” and you won’t ever see them. If you love kale, give it an “I love it” and we’ll try to get that to you every time they are available.

Prior to each delivery, you’ll have the option to swap out items if you want. Already have enough radishes this week? Just swap them out for something else we have available that week. Or, if you love the surprise of not knowing what's in your share, you can skip customization and get whatever was assigned to your share based on the preferences you input at sign-up. You can also purchase additional produce and add-on options from other producers (like eggs or mushrooms) through the Extras section.

Another perk of Harvie is the ability to place your share on “hold” or reschedule it for a future date if you're going to be out of town or aren't available to pick up.
Payment
When you first sign up, you'll input your credit card information. As the season progresses, you'll be charged per week. There's no subscription fee and no big upfront cost.
