"I love the River Queen Greens CSA-- my husband and I have been members for 5 years I think?? The market-style pickup is a highlight, giving me the option to skip something we're tired of and replace it with extras of whatever we're loving that week. The veggies are reliably fresh and high-quality. I often find myself adding on fresh fruit, honey, or chicken from nearby farms too, while I'm at the pickup-- it's just so easy to do my shopping with River Queen and friends! We love to get to talk to the farmers and farmworkers at the pickup, to ask how they cook with radicchio or when the next crops are coming. We've bought shares and boxes from several other farms locally, but River Queen is our perennial favorite." -- Chris G
"Picking up my farm share on Tuesday has become one of the highlights of my week for the last few years. And something I particularly look forward to in fall after relying on supermarkets for a large part of my produce over the summer - the vegetables just don’t compare. The quality, variety, beauty, and abundance cannot be emphasized enough. And while it is the veggies that steal the show, being part of the RQG community has enriched my life in many ways and creates a connection to a caring and active network. They offer opportunities to visit the farm to see where and how the veggies are grown and educate their members on many things going on in the community. I cannot recommend the farm share enough." -- Lauren S
"River Queen is the best way to get vegetables. As soon as they start coming up, my kids want the carrots. We eat more greens than we ever have before and we take on new projects with the variety of veggies that we pick out. The consistency and reliability of the farm share keeps us honest about cooking at home and eating healthy and the pick-up activity is a simple and fun thing to do together. My family goes through a lot of groceries. We can keep things in the freezer and buy in bulk, but getting our farm share every week makes the meals something to look forward to. Everyone can request their favorites and we can try new things, all while feeling connected to where the veggies are grown and to everyone at the farm share." -- Michael D
"I am so looking forward to the Farm Share pickups coming back to Press St. Gardens this fall. After my first year participating, it made such a difference lacking access to y’all’s fresh greens, herbs, veggies, etc., this summer. I have not eaten as well (impacting my both weight and A1c), as the produce costs (and quality) at other stores/locations are just prohibitive on my Social Security income. Plus, I don’t get to share as much of the delicious bulk food I make with my friends and neighbors. Using everything up in Monday’s beans, purées, stews and stocks became such a fun and healthy habit last Spring!" -- Daniel T
